Family Literacy Day — Wednesday January 27, 2010 MD & Community of Provost First Annual Reading Challenge! Challenge was to determine the total number of minutes read over a 2-week period throughout the entire M.D. of Provost.
We have decided to make this an annual event for two weeks prior to Family Literacy Day each year — and now we have a target number to improve on as a community in 2011!
2010 — Getting Back to Basics Computer Tutor Drop In Program Beginning in January 2010, Provost Adult Learning is opening our computer lab for 1-on-1 tutoring to the community! We’re here to help you with questions and provide coaching in basic computer literacy, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Email, Facebook, Blogging and more. Cost: All drop-in classes are free, but donations are always welcomed. Days & Times: Tues 1:30 -3:30 pm; Fri 9:30 -11 am.

Looking for Aspiring Writers to form Provost Writers’ Group In 2010, we’re looking to form a Provost Writers’ Group, to be run much like our monthly Book Club (which is flourishing). Suggestions so far have included evening readings with local guest authors and practical writing sessions. The Provost Library has graciously consented to the free use of the library for monthly evening meetings — what an inspirational setting!
