2010 Computer & Technology Courses

 

Simply Accounting Level I:      This computer accounting program can be used for home and small business needs.  Students will be exposed to all applications of Simply Accounting by use of examples and hands-on experience.  All introductory accounts payable and receivable, project distribution, and payroll functions will be covered.  Students should be familiar with basic accounting principles and comfortable with computers.  Book included in fee.

Prerequisite: Bookkeeping or equivalent experience.

 

“Computer Tutor” Drop In:      Open-to-the-public computer lab and 1-on-1 computer tutoring to the community.  Coaching and assistance in basic computer literacy, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Email, Facebook and using the Internet.  No appointment is necessary.

Dates: Tuesdays       Time:  1:30—3:30 PM                        Dates: Fridays      Time:  9:30—11:30 AM

Cost:     There is no cost, but donations are always appreciated.

 

“Computer Tutor” Drop In Evenings:         Evening 1-on-1 computer tutoring sessions to the community.  Coaching and assistance in basic computer literacy, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Email, Facebook and using the Internet.  No appointment is necessary.

Technology Today — Basic:    Instructor Tamara Kemp will walk you through basic use of your Cell Phone, Blackberry, Bluetooth, PDA, Digital Camera, and more.  Learn how to text message, use the contacts, calendar and camera functions and internet applications.  This course is hands-on, so bring your own equipment with you.  6 Sessions. (3 weeks)

Pre-Registration Cost:  $55 by Sep 10.
Full Fee:    $65 after Sep 10.

 

Memory Manager I:        Join instructor Shirley Stuckky as she introduces you to the Memory Manager software, a program to edit and organize your digital photos.  Please bring photos, your camera and cord, and a memory stick.

Date:     Thurs Oct 7          Time:    7-9 pm               Fee:    $25          Register by Sep 23.

 

Memory Manager II:       Instructor Shirley Stuckky delves deeper into the Memory Manager software.  Learn how to create slide shows, albums and other templates, complete with journaling.  Please bring photos, your camera and cord, and a memory stick.  Prerequisite:  Memory Manager 1.

Date:     Thurs Oct 14        Time:    7-9 pm               Fee:    $25          Register by Sep 30.

 

Digital Storybook:         An advanced session with instructor Shirley Stuckky for the earlier digital Photo Management.  Learn to use your digital images to create from scratch or predesigned templates, a digital storybook which you can have printed as a hard cover memory book, or make a slide show or print whole “scrapbooked” pages.  Please bring photos, your camera and cord, and a memory stick.  Prerequisite:  Memory Manager Course.
