Provost & District Adult Learning is a registered non-profit society that provides Adult  Learning courses.  We are here for anyone who wishes to receive Adult Learning.  We provide a variety of courses through the year which encourages life-long learning.  In 2010, we’ll be working even more closely with Lakeland College, to provide easier and more accessible learning for everyone in our community.

 

The Provost and District Adult Literacy Program is free to any individual over the age of 17.  We offer tutor training, free resources, one-on-one tutor training, English as a Second Language classes and activities, and support to all learners.

 

Ed2go is Distance learning with a difference!  A unique network of schools, colleges and universities from across Canada, the United States and Australia, course offerings for adults include computers & technology, writing & language, business, professional development and personal enrichment.

 

Career & Employment Resources for Job Seekers and Employers offer post-secondary calendars, career occupational profiles, financial assistance forms and a job board.  Use our free computer access for typing and printing resumes and cover letters, and then our fax and photocopy service to send to potential employers.

 

Community Access Site (CAP)  Free internet access for such things as  job searching, on-line applications, distance learning, sending and receiving emails, job searches, academic assistance and information, and much, much more.

Saturday August 21st

Toxic Roundup

 

Provost Arena parking lot, 10 am - 2 pm.  Bring your toxic household items to be hauled away to be disposed of properly without filling up our own landfill.  Items may include:  paint, aerosol cans, batteries, cleaners and electronic waste. 

 

 

Monday September 13th

Community Awareness Night 2010

 

Provost Recreation and Culture Center.  Set-up from 2-5 pm, doors open to the public from 7-9 pm.

 

Community Awareness Night promotes and creates awareness in our community and surrounding areas of the numerous educational, recreational and cultural opportunities available.  Registrations may be taken and information distributed regarding your organization or home-based business; however, no selling of products is permitted.

Monday September 20th

Seniors On The Move Frenchman Butte Museum & Guided Tour

 
Meet at the Provincial Building at 8:30 am - expect to return around 5 pm.  You will need to bring or buy your own lunch.

 

Tour the Frenchman Butte Museum and historic buildings, enjoy a relaxing lunch at the Log Cabin Tea House, and then tour guide and author Wayne Brown will wrap up the day by treating us to a guided tour to the Historic Fort Pit.
